This is a little random and very cheap and cheerful, but hey.
I’ve been back in Ukraine teaching again this week and we started listening to some epic U2 in the car coming home this evening. What better than to listen to Bono’s 2022 reworking of his Aung San Su Kyi classic Walk On for Ukraine. It’s such an inspiring and hopeful song in the face of darkness. I just pointed and filmed, taking in the many people on the streets. As I said, rough and ready. And it’s been such a gorgeous spring day that one can almost forget this is a city at war. But that’s impossible at night when the air-raid sirens kick in (and increasingly during the day, these days) and one can occasionally hear explosions far off.
I love this song and I love this country.
And while we’re at it, here’s this remarkable video of Yours Eternally, taken from their very new Easter Lily EP.
