Tectonic words: a cry from the heart for substance

I wrote this a few months back – but have sat on it for a while.

But somehow it feels more pressing than ever, amidst the drear of the daily news cycle that only alternates between triviality and the profoundest unease.

In case you’re wondering, the image is of The Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, a place I had the chance to visit earlier in the month. The weather wasn’t quite as idyllic as this, but it’s an astonishing place nonetheless.
