For International Women’s Day, M & 007 got together for this great little clip – the stats towards the end are deeply concerning:

“O Tempora! O Mores Evangelicii!” 10. A milestone and a decision

Something Hugh said at that meeting in Sheffield has been etched on my memory every since. I’d only been in ordained ministry perhaps 2 or 3 years and we were having our normal post-Summer catchup and planning session.

We would habitually begin with a short devotional, but that day, Hugh was in reflective mood. Only a few weeks before, he’d celebrated his 50th birthday, and now he openly described how affecting that milestone had been. If memory serves, it was on the lines of “I now realize that I have more years of formal ministry behind me than ahead of me.”

“O Tempora! O Mores Evangelicii!” 9. Believing the propaganda

You will know of Godwin’s law, I’m sure, whereby the longer an internet discussion countinues, “the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.” So, I’m afraid, the time has come.

One of the most gripping if chilling works of history that I’ve read is one that I find myself returning to a lot these days, despite the fact that it is well over 10 years since I first encountered it (in early research for Wilderness of Mirrors). Sir Ian Kershaw has spent a lifetime researching 20th Century German history and has brought all kinds of profound insights to the anglophone world (including through his mammoth two-volume biography of Hitler).

Saw this yesterday. The stats are worrying indeed but I’m not sure the video does women’s equality any favours. Does wearing a dress and heels really equate to what it means to be a woman? “Have you ever considered what it is like to be a woman? Here, dress up as a stereotype and be none the wiser”

Is that the best we can do?

Well observed Rach, but maybe that’s the whole point …

“I have no doubt that the distortions of the truth by the radical feminists of our time will, someday, be seen as having been the greatest intellectual crime of the second half of the 20th century. Meanwhile, we still live under the aegis of that crime and to call attention to it is an act of great moral courage”.
Professor Howard S. Schwartz, Oakland University, Michigan USA.

The one-dimensional distorted message of this video, relating and purposefully veiling the real truth of worldwide gender specific suffering, societal and personal expectation, opportunity, choice, ambition, reward etc. is quite sickening. Shame on you Judi Dench. And you look sad, brow beaten and brainwashed Daniel Craig. Quite pathetic.

Judy, I’ve got news for you. The Men’s Movement is now here.

Feminists have proven time and again they cannot grasp the facts and cannot follow any line of reasoning.

The stats have ALL been misquoted. Working at home cleaning or cooking is hardly the same as spending all daylight hours down in a hole digging coal, or up on shaky dangerous scaffolding carrying heavy hods or emptying back-breaking filthy bins.

Feminists will stop asking silly questions not when the answer is “yes”, because it isn’t yes. They’ll stop when the answer is “shut up”.
