yesterday we had a lovely All Souls staff day out – boat trip up the river to the Thames Barrier and then a picnic in Greenwich Park. Rather wet but definitely jolly.

London is a city that is at times both stunning and sickening, nostalgically ancient and abrasively modern, beautifully conserving and terrifyingly wasteful. Hopefully these river panoramas capture something of this (NB 3 pics with blue skies were taken on a previous boat trip!).
