Everything is still so weird. So we need to let our hair down a bit. We need to have a few laughs.
So here is the one and only Wendy Cope. She’s a witty one. I love so many of her verses. There are too many to choose from. I would have loved to include The Uncertainty of the Poet (rather remarkably set to music by jazz singer Kurt Elling) for example.
Instead, I decided to restrict myself to her first anthology, Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis.
