A picture or carving (or set of three such) in three compartments side by side, the lateral ones being usually subordinate, and hinged so as to fold over the central one (chiefly as an altar-piece). Transferred to artistic series such as book or film trilogies.
We have now reached the 8th, and final, episode of Triptych Season 1! What a ride it’s been. We hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have.
