I’m not quite sure why I first did this, but started making wordles for U2 albums a while back. So naturally, with a new album out this week, I wanted to do another.
I’ve had all kinds of things buzzing around my head while listening. Will perhaps inflict my thoughts on the world in due course (you’d love that I know).
But isn’t it interesting that the dominating word is LIGHT? For an album that was delayed by the shock of the Trump election – and several songs appeal to the USA’s better side – there is unsurprisingly much darkness here. There’s lament, fear, failure, and the consciousness of mortality in spades. But this wordle indicates the determination to seek after its remedy, and perhaps also the hope for finding its remedy.
