HT to Libby Purves’ Faith Central for this fantastic item. Unfortunately it’s not ‘for real’ but is a work of art.
This is what she said about it:
In Kansas – this roadside Prayer Booth. The instructions tell you to fold down the integral kneeler, say a prayer and move on. We were quite excited about it at first, thinking it was a genuine piece of dotty ecclesiastical outreach. But alas, alas: it turns out to be “art”. It is part of the Baltimore Sculpture Project. It is ironic, and has in the small print the words “Please avoid the booth if you are sensitive to or feel threatened by actions that are religious in nature.” Somehow that takes away the magic. But never mind. The artist is indeed the pastor of a nondenominational church.
