It was totally inevitable that this would happen (after the posting on Tues 17th April). I hadn’t expected it from a Welshman though. Perhaps he’s seen the light. The card is so precious to me that i felt the need to share it wider – the poetry would surely quiver even the stiffest of stiff-upper lips ? It makes one so proud to be English. Bring on Elgar’s Pomp & Circumstance and make sure you stand for the National Anthem.

I have to say, though, that my Welsh friend who sent it wasn’t taking it with the seriousness it deserved. Therefore as a punishment, i take great delight in posting his little message as well. I’m sure he would want you, dear reader, to enjoy the 23rd as much as me. So as the card so aptly puts it – HAPPY ST GEORGE’S DAY.

Ross told me about this card and in a way it is incredible. For all of America’s patriotism, Hallark doesn’t make cards like this for the 4th of July. Maybe because America’s greatness is already so evident? :)- yes, kidding!
